Why a local crew matters

Built for lawns east of the Cascades.

The Inland Northwest isn't the coast. The grass, the soil, and the timing are all different here — and that's exactly what we know.

The right grass for our climate

Kentucky bluegrass thrives east of the Cascades under irrigation and resists disease in our dry air. For sun, kids, and pets we blend in tall fescue (about 75/25) for heat and traffic tolerance.

Clay and rock, handled

Inland Northwest soils run from Spokane clay to North Idaho glacial till. We grade and amend so roots take hold — we don't just roll sod over hardpan and hope.

Installed in the right window

We plant in the windows that actually take here — mid-April to early June and mid-August to early October — and steer you away from frying new sod in the July heat.

Honest pricing, upfront

A real range online and a firm number on site. No vague "it depends," no pressure, no waiting days for someone to call you back with a figure.

What neighbors say

Lawns the block notices.

Bare dirt on Friday, full green lawn by Sunday. The crew tore out the old mess, leveled everything, and the sod looks incredible. Straight pricing, no runaround.

Got an honest estimate online before anyone even came out — that alone sold me. Install was fast and clean, and they showed me exactly how to water it.
Megan R.Coeur d'Alene, ID
We'd called two other companies that wouldn't give a number over the phone. Next Day Yard gave us a range up front and matched it on site. Lawn took beautifully.
Dave & Linda P.Liberty Lake, WA
They actually know our soil. Explained why bluegrass works over here, prepped the clay properly, and didn't just roll sod over bad ground. Worth every penny.

Questions, answered

The stuff homeowners actually ask.

When's the best time to lay sod in Spokane and North Idaho?

Two windows take best here: mid-April to early June, and mid-August to early October. We avoid peak mid-summer heat, when new sod struggles to root. If you're set on a summer install, we'll walk you through the extra watering it takes.

What kind of grass do you install?

Kentucky bluegrass — it thrives east of the Cascades under irrigation and shrugs off disease in our dry air. For yards with kids, pets, or full sun, we blend in tall fescue (about 75% bluegrass / 25% fescue) for extra heat and traffic tolerance.

How much does sod installation cost?

Every install includes fresh-cut sod and labor at $0.84 per square foot. From there you add only the prep your yard needs: removing the existing grass is $2.55/sq ft, fresh topsoil $1.75, and regrading $0.40. So most jobs land between $0.84 and about $5.54 per square foot installed, depending on prep. Delivery is billed separately by distance. Use the estimator to build your number line by line, then we confirm a firm quote on site — free.

Do you remove my old lawn first?

Yes, when it's needed. We tear out the old grass, grade and level, and add topsoil where the ground calls for it, so the new sod roots into good soil instead of hardpan.

How soon can you start?

Often within a week or two during install season, depending on the schedule and sod availability. Tell us your timeline in the quote and we'll give you a straight answer.

How long until I can walk and mow on it?

Stay off it for about two weeks while the roots knit in. You can usually mow once it's rooted and around 3 to 3.5 inches tall — we leave you simple instructions.

How much watering does new sod need?

A lot at first — short, frequent watering for the first couple of weeks to keep the roots damp, then tapering off as it establishes. We give you a watering schedule so it takes.

What areas do you serve?

The greater Spokane and Coeur d'Alene area — Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Mead, Cheney and nearby Washington towns, plus Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum and across North Idaho. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.
