Cost guide
How much does sod cost in Spokane & North Idaho?
In the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene area, every install starts with sod and labor at $0.84/sq ft. From there you add only the ground prep your yard actually needs, so most jobs land between $0.84 and about $5.54/sq ft installed — plus delivery, which is billed by distance.
The price, broken out
Sod and install are always included; each prep item is added per square foot only if your yard needs it.

What changes your price
- How much prep. This is the biggest driver. Sod onto already-graded soil is just the base rate; removing an old lawn, adding topsoil, and regrading each add to it.
- Yard size. Bigger lawns cost more in total, but the per-square-foot rate stays steady.
- Delivery distance. Sod is heavy and perishable, so delivery is billed by the mile — closer jobs cost less to haul.
- Grass type. Fresh-cut fescue and Kentucky bluegrass are priced about the same here; we recommend the blend that suits your sun and soil.
A real example
Say you have a 3,000 sq ft backyard and need the old grass removed first. That's sod + install ($0.84) plus grass removal ($2.55) — about $10,170 installed, plus delivery. Want your own number? The instant estimator builds it up line by line as you size your yard and pick your prep.
